I've traveled the world, but the beauty of home never ceases to amaze me.

I'm Sarah Carrington—author, nurse, adventurer, and lifelong believer in the power of resilience. My life has been anything but ordinary. Raised in a strict religious community, I left at thirteen and faced challenges that included homelessness, loss, and rebuilding my life from the ground up.

My memoir, Where Do I Belong, shares that journey of survival, self-discovery, and finding the strength to build a life beyond the one I was born into. The story ends when, at twenty-three, I found myself orphaned, pregnant, a stepmother, and taking custody of my younger siblings. But the world wasn't done with me yet.

Today, I work as a nurse in British Columbia while continuing to write and share my story. I'm currently working on the sequel, Is This Really My Life?, which explores what came next: raising children, navigating poverty and uncertainty, surviving a difficult marriage, rebuilding after divorce, and trying to create a stable life while living very much in survival mode. It's a story about resilience, reinvention, and discovering who you are when the crisis finally begins to pass.

If I'm being honest, I've been procrastinating a little. Some chapters are harder to revisit than others, but it's a story I'm committed to telling.

I'm also developing future resources and tools focused on resilience, reinvention, and helping people create their own next chapter.

When I'm not writing or working, you'll usually find me exploring the outdoors, hiking mountain trails, traveling, reading, or enjoying a good cup of coffee while dreaming up the next adventure.
